Happy 95th Birthday to the school that’s home to many, and where my best memories were made. An institution where God was placed above all else, the way we prayed before every exam, how the teachers will “bless these ladies your wisdom.. Bless our girls..” and make us tear. A circle of caring staff that loved us no matter what, who made it our second home.
Even if we aren’t a Band 1/2/3 school, even if we don’t produce excellent results, that doesn’t make us any less an excellent institution. Maybe in terms of academics, yes, but the effort the teachers put in, the fun we had in school, how we are accepted for what we are (low PSLE aggregates all), how our best was enough.. In my honest opinion, all these are more important that what our average L1R5 is. (just saying)
So thank you, PL, for being the best decision I’ve ever made, and for being many generations worth of constant tower of refuge.
… God I miss it so damn much. 10 years isn’t enough.
______________
Could hardly focus in school today. I miss everything. My girls, the English, THE LACK OF SCHOLARS, the mindfuckery in Lit classes, the culture, the prayers, the teachers, the extremely comfortable concert hall, the absence of immature humans (aka the male species) and most importantly, the warmth of it all.
/Retreating to my hole of depression
Falling ill.
